eduroam is a global initiative offering wireless network access to staff and students from over 20 Australian Universities and more than 500 sites in 40 countries worldwide, using their home institution’s credentials. QUT staff and students can access the eduroam wireless network at participating non-QUT institutions via their QUT Access username and password. Once connected to eduroam, you can connect back to QUT via the Secure Access Service software (www.its.qut.edu.au/offcampusaccess/sas/).

You will need to configure your mobile computing device before you can connect to the eduroam wireless network. Information on participating Australian institutions and user guides are available at www.its.qut.edu.au/eduroam

Integrated Help Services (IHS) has recently introduced a new service called IT Help Online.  IT Help Online is a self-service knowledge-base, where QUT staff and students can search for immediate online assistance with a wide range of IT-related problems and questions.

Currently there are over 90,000 solutions and articles available in IT Help Online, covering issues that you may experience when using IT applications and online services.  These solutions feature generic application content, as well as an ever-increasing amount of information specific to QUT’s environment.  IT Help Online also features current service announcements and information, as well as links to other QUT-specific self-help options and online services.  In addition, if you have an issue that cannot be solved using IT Help Online, you can submit your request for assistance to the IT Helpdesk by clicking on the IT Request Online link.

IT Help Online is currently available on a trial basis, as part of a wider QUT initiative to improve online assistance for staff and students.  If you would like to provide feedback on the IT Help Online service, click on the “Feedback” link at the bottom right-hand corner of the IT Help Online page
